It can pretty negatively affect someone's enjoyment of fandom when everyone insists that poorly written characters are actually not only well-written, but groundbreaking and So Important, and it's some flavor of problematic to not like them. Or, worse, when they look at an actual well-written character and claim to love them, but can't manage to discuss why they love them, or even name any of their personality traits.

Not that there aren't misogynists in fandom who hate all female characters for bullshit reasons, but people who constantly sing female characters' praises yet can't describe them as anything more than generically "great" or badass or awesome also have some pretty weird hangups.
