Fandom confessions

For those little things that aren't worth the perfunctory MS Paint job.

No I don't want Idris Elba to be the next Bond because he's the only black actor I know. I genuinely think he'd be the best choice. Plus I find that London hard boy thing hot af and Elba suits Bond way more than Tom Hardy.

No, Bond is not a London hard boy. Elba and Hardy would both be abysmal choices imo.

Bond has been three or four different things at this point. Don't talk crap.

Yes, and all of those things have been elegant and refined and high end. I can dig the ray winson london street tough type, but it aint bond.

Elegant, refined and high end? Aha hahahahaha. Yeah sure, buddy. He's a manwhore who buys expensive suits. There isn't anything high end and refined about Bond. He's a walking STI patient zero.

Is that slut shaming?

James Bond is a stupid moneymaking franchise that's lasted waaaay beyond its expiration date. My friend made me watch a James Bond movie once, thankfully not in the theater, and it was the most retarded thing I've seen. Let it die already, it should have gone away after the fcking cold war was over.

Well, you an me disagree on this radically. I still love james bond, and after a breif dip in quality during the later brosnan years, I'm enjoying the newer ones all the more for the ways they're modernised the franchise.

I thought Ancillary Justice was boring.

I have a deep hatred for The Andy Griffith Show. I can not stand Andy Taylor. I can watch Matlock reruns just fine, so it isn't Andy Griffith himself. I hate Barney, Opie, Aunt Bee, and most of the residents of Mayberry. The whistling from the theme song gives me the creeps. He'll, Andy Taylor gives me the creeps, like he is all smiles to your face, but he'll stab you in the back for the slightest thing. I read once that they had the show end with Andy leaving Opie in Mayberry with Aunt Bee. That Andy got married and switched from being a sheriff to working for the postal service. I don't know if it was true or false, but it made me think that was something that jerk would have done.

When people start with that whole 'I miss Mayberry' line, my knee-jerk reaction is thinking they are racist and sexist.

I was born, raised, and currently living in North Carolina, the state the fictional town of Mayberry was set in and where Andy Griffith was from. I told a former coworker that I didn't like the Andy Griffith show and she treated me like I ate babies for breakfast from then on.

I think my hate for Andy Taylor stems from my Dad's Father. Grandpa was nice to people in public, but a jerk to family. Grandpa looked a lot like AGS era Andy Griffith.

I always thought everyone in Mayberry wouldn't be so nice if a Black person or a hippie (the show was on in the sixties) was driving through there.

I used to like that show when I was a kid but now I also find it creepy.

I get off on thinking up scenarios of my favorite characters being near death or dying.

It's not really a secret thing, but I saw a thing that was saying Moffat was just writing a sci-fi Twilight AU, a girl likes two guys and takes forever to chose between them and eventually chooses one and marries him, has a baby with him, and the babygirl grows up super fast and marries the other man.

And the Moffat secret made me remember and I keep snickering over it.

That's hilarious because it's true.
