I am really hoping they don't explicitly hook them up. Frank's whole thing is that he can't let go of the past and what happened to his family.

Is it still a cliche if it's realistic

Honestly I loved their dynamic, up to a point, but it's kinda refreshing to come across anyone who doesn't ship them (among those who don't hate Karen, I mean). I think it would have been effectively devastating and bittersweet if she'd just been disappointed and heartbroken and tried to move on (like after the diner incident), but it all just felt overplayed and like her story was revolving around his pain and ehh, I just find myself disappointed that they're bringing her into the Punisher series. Even having dabbled into the fic for the pairing, I don't find it very credible for who the character is and I'm a little dismayed that there are people who take for granted that there's something canonically romantic about their relationship, because nooo. Please don't let that be where it's going.

I felt that, in DD s2 at least, they gave that arc balance.

Because she *doesn't* pull him back from the brink, and she knows it. In the end it was Karen who decided to write about him as The Punisher, not the man he used to be.
