Not everything comes down to confronting evil head on like a superhero. Sometimes being a good person means giving to a food bank and trying to be a productive and kind person who doesn't cheat, who supports others where they can.

Have you read Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking? It's not quite the same topic but it really helped me appreciate my personality a lot more. Not everyone can or should be loud, confrontational, or in the public eye. Some people do things in a more low-key way that still make a difference.

Sometimes I end up donating to things that make me wonder if I'm being tricked, but then I think, you know, it's better to have a kind heart and occasionally get taken advantage of than decide that only huge problems (that I can't do much if anything about) are the ones that matter...it's better to care and help in little ways, even if some people think it makes you a sucker. (I do try to use good judgment, but there's only so far you can be "certain" I think.)
