To be clear, you're just being really transphobic right now, right?

Eh, You might want to look into the strange tale of Thorny Sterling.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-22 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
In what sense does Thorny Sterling mean that OP is not transphobic

[personal profile] thewakokid 2017-10-22 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
In the sense that there are actual chicks writing M/M and claiming to be gay men for Kudos and sales? Like, it's a thing. I there was another one called Kindle Alexander doing something similar.

Women publishing fiction under male persona is neither new, nor oppressive to men.

Wako didn't say that it was oppressive to men. Using a pseudonym is a completely different scenario to the ones Wako mentioned with the likes of Thorny Sterling etc.

I don't think the OP was talking about trans men but rather cis women who create false identities.

[personal profile] thewakokid 2017-10-22 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that would be my reading of it as well. The "" around the word identifies makes me think they're not talking to men who identify as men, but women who "Identify" as men.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-23 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
I thought the same. I didn't take a trans reading of the secret at all. I took it as straight women who fetishize slash so much that they say they are gay men. Like slash weeaboos, for lack of a better description.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-23 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
Would you mind elaborating on to that? Like, in all seriousness - what do you think they mean when they say that they are gay men? What is the non-trans interpretation of that idea?

[personal profile] digitalghosts 2017-10-23 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
They mean all "those people". Like, all "those people who do not fit my idea of the world". All people are born with unchanging gender and sexuality and git nicely into forms, they never explore, make mistakes or read porn or cheesy romance flicks ... everyone knows that!

Oh. Ok, I can admit it, my reading of the secret was way off. I was wrong.

honestly i really wish you were right and i was wrong because holy shit this person

[personal profile] viv_vivillon 2017-10-23 08:15 am (UTC)(link)
Jesus Christ. Yep, my interpretation was completely wrong. I write LGBT fiction professionally and in that community there have been a few recent blow ups where an author claiming to be a gay man has turned out to actually be a cis woman, creating a whole false identity (sometimes including a fake husband) to scam money out of people. Or otherwise get away with bad behaviour. I thought that's what the OP of the secret was referring to.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-23 12:05 pm (UTC)(link)
So... trans "men"?

(Anonymous) 2017-10-23 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Aren't you a good trans activist?
How triggering is the word "tranny" for you though?

Falsely accusing OP is terf is acceptable but I'm glad you're super involved with political correctness. A trannies feelings are super important and must be protected at all costs.

Anon, please deal with your issues in a more healthy way.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-23 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Viv, you're the one with an issue not me. I'm not a hyper-sensitive queer ally twat.

Here's a newsflash: the LGBT community isn't a transgender community. "Cis" women and men have a right to address/oppose gender topics like anyone else.
Being gay isn't being trans. Go fuck yourself.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-23 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
the LGBT community isn't a transgender community

I mean

(Anonymous) 2017-10-27 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
wtf does the T stand for then what the ever loving fuck

(Anonymous) 2017-10-23 07:41 am (UTC)(link)
OMG everything is so transphobic!!!1 Look how superior I feel when I point out the slightest hint of gender issue/debates and cry transphobia! OMG!

Or my problem is imagining pronouns/language policing!!!

Where's my SJW bronwie points?!

(Anonymous) 2017-10-23 08:15 am (UTC)(link)
You know that it's pretty easy to tell when someone has just gone and spammed like 10 unhinged posts all over a thread saying basically the same thing in the same hyperbolic language, right
