Dumb movies

(Anonymous) 2017-10-22 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I just started watching a Disney movie called Cow Belles and the premise is so ridiculous. I don't mean "spoiled rich girls have to work on a farm", that's fine, if basic. But it opens with one of the girls getting her driver's license, so the dad gets her a new car but it's a stick shift!! So she has to go to the farm and learn how to drive a stick shift now before he'll actually let her drive that car.

Just...what.

Couldn't the dad just teach her how to drive stick? Why buy her a stick as her first car if no one taught her how to drive it?

Why send her to a farm to teach her how to drive??? So many questions.

I think it was literally just to set her up with the "cute" farm boy lmao.

IFKR. But the car plot was only the beginning. They were ACTUALLY sent to get a job at the dairy plant after they almost burned down the house. Then the dad was sent on vacation by his business partner who is embezzling money and the teen girls have to deal with the company having no money and it just keeps raising more questions. Like why aren't the police involved at this point? Why can't they reach their father?? I would be worried that his business partner was murdering him at this point but they're just...whining...but I'm still watching it because it's a nice mindless distraction lmao.

So they leave these two girls in charge of a company after they nearly burned their own house down? Huh??

No, he made them work regular jobs there but when everyone's paychecks bounced apparently they were the only ones able to do something about it, somehow. The guy who supposedly stole the money is just...gone with no explanation?

NOTHING ABOUT THIS MOVIE MAKES ANY SENSE. I just got to the end. The dad just shows up like "lol I decided I missed my daughters! also looks like my partner stole all the money so we have to start from the ground up oh well". What the fuck. ALSO I'm PRETTY SURE teenagers aren't legally allowed to work 40 hours a week. Do the police not exist in this universe? Is it just a weird capitalist anarchy??? god damn I'm so confused

Oh man, I missed that this was a movie and thought you were watching a reality show and was getting more and more confused. It may be a stupid movie, but better a stupid movie than an even stupider, obviously fake reality show.

It's one of my favorite movies ever, but Big Trouble In Little China has a lot of scenes like this

the best one is when they explain how Egg Shen is able to show up to rescue Jack and Wang Chi towards the end of the movie:

I recently watched Pan (that Peter Pan prequel thing from a few years ago).
Damn, that was a dumb movie.
