(Anonymous) 2017-10-23 12:15 am (UTC)(link)If you're not talking about trans dudes, your wording gives that vibe, but I mean I get it. Being queer and trans and having had an anime phase, I was definitely around a lot of girls who had no better way of describing their desire for certain types of relationships/guys, and a lot of them were just cis girls who had a lot of maturing to do. It was cringeworthy, and most of them would probably cringe at their past selves. Girls aren't taught how to discuss their desires, especially when those desires include concepts like 'I would like my partner to treat me as an absolute equal' (not so much in the yaoi fangirl world where there's a lot of toxic power imbalances, but in some of the older slash fandoms a huge part of the draw is the inherent equality between partners).
But... being queer and trans, I also know for some people, that cringey fangirl phase is an instrumental part of actual self-discovery. Learning that I identified with gay/bi male characters, even if they were only gay/bi in fanfiction, was instrumental in understanding myself.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-23 06:28 am (UTC)(link)You know how I can tell you're a sjw and/or transactivist?
Your quick to anger on behalf of the trannies and quick to make insults. Asshole, really? You're the asshole and no your outrage isn't acceptable here when you know what OP is asking. Its a fair and relatively civil question at that. But yeah, threaten people that they're assholes because that makes you that much more morally superior and so hyper-sensitive ally that all the trannies look up to.
