Good luck, I never have, but I know it's not easy. I have hoarder tendencies so I can't encourage myself to keep everything on the off chance that I might reuse it, but I compost and recycle and bring reusable shopping bags everywhere. If you're in an apartment or something where a compost heap isn't practical, a worm-compost bin might help. Shopping at thrift stores means there's usually no packaging to throw away. Learning to cook from scratch if you don't know how already will save tons of packaging. Some grocery stores with bulk bins will let you use your own containers for stuff so you don't bring home plastic or paper bags, and apparently reusable produce bags are a thing now. What are you having problems with, though? My mind went right to food, but if it's something else maybe I can think of some ideas? Idk.

It's mostly our weekly shop I'm struggling with. The amount of unrecyclable plastic that we buy along with our food on a weekly basis is ridiculous. Where we live you shop in supermarkets for food, there isn't anywhere else so we have no alternatives.

We mostly cook from scratch, but most fresh produce comes plastic wrapped here (I'm in the UK). For absolutely no reason I can discern, where there are loose and plastic wrapped versions of the same produce the plastic wrapped is usually cheaper too. :/

Thanks for all the tips though.

I have hoarder tendencies too! I did the cliched thing of reading Marie Kondo and deciding to change my ways. So far the changes I've managed to make have made my life a lot better, but damn it's tough to fight the instinct.
