So, what... Jackson is complaining that Brits are better trained and ask for less money?

He's complaining about cheap immigrant labour taking his people's jobs?

Okay. Well, it's an opinion.

But given the number of put-downs in Jackson's text (they only *think* they're better trained etc.) I'm kind of with Boyega on this one: "A stupid ass conflict."

No! You must be sufficiently traumatised in a *particular kind of way* or your portrayal *just won't be good enough*.

SLJ was an ass, if an eloquent and charming one.

Wow, even more missing the point! You're on a roll!

You imagined "the bit where he has no faith in a trained actor to, like, portray something he hasn't directly experienced." Jackson did not put down Daniel Kaluuya or David Oyelowo. He was wondering if African-American actors would bring something different to the roles. It was speculation, not hate. Think of it kind of like fancasting, or seeing what Edward Norton and Mark Ruffalo have done with the same role of the Hulk in the MCU.

When one of the hosts asked him why he thought there were so many black British actors in Hollywood, Jackson said they're cheaper because those actors are generally less established in Hollywood and they're eager to get over here because there are more opportunities to work. So they "ask for less money" because they can't command more money. He also said that the casting agents and directors (that's who "they" referred to, not black British actors) have a bias for classically trained actors, which...classically trained =/= "better". It's just one way of learning how to act.
