Thank you. :( That sounds like a beautiful ring! I hope you do see that friend again someday. I keep telling myself that I really shouldn't wear jewellery that I'm attached to sentimentally because I'm so clumsy and forgetful and it just ends in tears when I eventually break them/lose them. Rings especially. I've lost track of how many times I've taken a ring off to wash my hands in a pub or something and walked out without it.

I have a fixed habit of keeping my rings on when I wash my hands in any bathroom not in my own home for that exact reason.
