Secret 13 - Philosophy of being in fandom

Every time someone complains about fandom being mean or insensitive or resistant to change, I want to tell them this:

Stop being so naive. If you're going to go against the flow, the flow is going to go against you. Actions have consequences. You should know that by now. But the beauty of free will is that nothing is stopping you from taking the actions you want to take, besides your own inability to cope. Know your limits. And don't exceed them, it it's so much of a problem.

That's the glass; perceive as you see fit.
