*can't be bothered to log out of RP journal*

I never really saw L.A has a threat to the Ellis/Nadie relationship sine it was so obvious how put off Ellis was from L.A. Still I never really like him all that much at the start because he was all "Ellis this Ellis that" and with so many other characters obsessing over Ellis...I dunno. It just seemed a little redundant and blank. Not that I dislike Ellis but it bugged the crap out of me how many character doted on her so much...honestly it was just kind creepy.

I'm getting off topic here xD;

So yea. I was really annoyed with L.A at the beginning too, but when they actually gave some reasoning for why he liked her so much I felt a little more sympathetic to him, and when he just died I was hit too. It seemed like such a waste when he could have been helped to grow into his own person, just as Ellis had been helped.

Oh Twilight series. I've read all three, and I'll admit I'll end up reading the fourth, but the more and more I think about it. The more I grow to dislike it as a story. I agree with you that Stephenie is a great author--just look at her other story The Host which is absolutely amazing. However I really do almost find the relationship between Bella and Edward disgusting.

The story was typical and cliche in the first novel but I still loved it. But in the second story where Edward leaves Bella and she practically become s a dead zombie I wanted to toss it. Because in that moment, where you give up everyone else and your life, it proves that what Bella has for Edward isn't love but some unhealthy obsession. She didn't give a shit about herself or anyone else because her beloved Edward and she was willing to entirely give up her education and any sense of independence just so she could be with him.

Bad. Bad. Bad

I getcha. I actually started to predict whether or not he'd end a sentence with "Ellis~" and more often than not he did. I think other characters just doted on her because she was cute, but I can see how redundant that would get.

Honestly, I thought he was beyond help, since his only reason for living seemed to be Ellis. But I do think someone should have tried. Instead, he gets mindwarped and played like a puppet by Rosenberg even more. :

Haha xDD

Yea it is pretty sad. It seemed like Ellis was able to help a little bit nearer to the end though. You know when he stopped treating her nearness as an opportunity to get close to her and just talked. It's been a bit since I've seen i but I do recall when they were just eating tacos together and be quiet that it seemed he was getting a little better. o--o then he remember Rosenberg and kinda went batshit...

If he hadn't died so soon afterwards though I really do think he might have been able to help him. Which just makes it all the sadder.

Stephanie is like many different authors in the world - she's writing a genre, and as long as you're into the genre, you'll be fine. And it's just sad to me that so many see Edward and Bella as healthy, and a good example of love. There is the potential, I'm sure, but it hasn't been grasped, and until Bella grows into her own independent person, it's just going to be...

Well, unfulfilling if I were involved. For other folks, however, it's what they might want. I guess I feel Bella is setting herself up for disaster, and too many folks applaud and think it's such a wonderful love they have. On that point in particular, I just don't agree.
