That last comment may have been true about TWD 2-3 seasons ago but it is definitely not true today. Even the subreddit dedicated to TWD is slowly starting to hate the show.

Honestly, that's the number 1 thing that's always stopped me from watching the show. Basically every fan of the show always came off to me like they actually secretly really hated them, like watching the show just made them miserable.

I've never seen an episode of the show, I have no idea whether or not it's good, that's just always the vibe I've gotten from its fans.

I really enjoyed the first four seasons. After that I did not enjoy it as much. I stopped watching during season 7.

It's so amazingly horrible anymore. Season one was pretty good, though some elements irritated, and season two was good, but then....meh.

I really like some of the *characters*, but i can't stand the show as a whole anymore.

Tow Ugly Dudes Staring At Each Other

(Anonymous) 2017-10-31 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Isn't one of those dudes Jeffrey Dean Morgan? I mean, it's not a really flattering shot, but come on.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-01 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
Oi! I happen to find one of those ugly dudes not ugly AT ALL. but it's not everybody's thing.

I haven't seen this show (obviously heard of it, though), so I didn't know that about Romero's attitude towards it, and on that level, I can see where their dedication would seem a bit odd.

But one could also see that dedication as a way to simply to thank and acknowledge him for his notable work and contributions to the genre as a whole. If they're aware of his feelings about the show and still give a shoutout to him anyway, I think that's a respectful gesture on their part.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-01 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's how I feel as well. No matter what Romero personally thought about the show, it was nice of them to dedicate to the man who started the genre at large.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-31 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Man, they really don't know when they're outclassed, huh.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-01 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
eh, I think it's more that they're acknowledging TWD wouldn't exist without Romero's contributions to the genre and creating the kind of zombies that populate the world of TWD. So basically, thanks Romero for making TWD possible, regardless of his feelings about it. He might be rolling over in his grave or something, but it would have been weird for them not to acknowledge him after his passing, imo.

Also yeah, I think most people are hate watching now than not. S7 killed a lot of the love I had for the show...but I can't quit.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-01 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, "zombies" were very much something else before Romero's movies, and the TWD "zombies" are based on Romero's ghouls. So it is fair.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-01 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
True, but I can undertand why the dedicated the show to him because, honestly, without Romero, the entire Zombie genre as it were would not exist, and therefore, no Walking Dead.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-01 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Romero = Rembrandt? Yeah, troll on, OP.

OP here

(Anonymous) 2017-11-01 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
When it comes to zombies George was a grandmaster. Just like Rembrandt was a grandmaster painter. Or Jackie Chan is a grandmaster when it comes to martial arts.

But hey thanks for proving me right about the neckbeards getting their feels hurt if you talk smack about their show. Don't you have a fedora to go tip?
