Yeah, you gotta take that shit with a grain of salt. PETA exists and thinks that your pet kitty is a slave to the Man. That doesn't mean that everyone who thinks you shouldn't declaw your cat is a PETA member.

I mean, do you think that anyone who's at all in favor of animal rights is a PETA type?

Depends, I might ask if they mean animal rights or animal welfare.

Animal rights IS PETA and their ilk, AKA animals have superior legal rights over humans.

Animal welfare is groups like the Humane society, that promote animal well-being.

But people confuse the two a lot and mean welfare when they say rights, so I would ask for clarification.
