"Does right" and "objectively phenomenal" are meaningless terms when it comes to something as subjective as television.

The stuff that Moffat does "well," like twisting tropes and producing "stylish" television aren't things that interest me, as a viewer.

For me, characterization (does this character behave in a way that is sufficiently consistent and realistic for me to believe in them enough to care what happens to them) is one of the main determining factors for me to enjoy a story. Very few of Moffat's characters ring true for me.

It's not an objective standard, it's not quantifiable and obviously it's not what everybody is else is or should be using.

But the things that I hear people touting at Moffat's strengths are things that I don't care about, and the things I watch for are the things he's not particularly interested in, I'm really not going to enjoy his stuff.
