I think that's pretty par for the course when it comes to modern slash ships. Everything has to be "wholesome" or "pure."

Are you the anon below who thinks the show is just too bland to inspire interesting fic? If so, I think that's probably a contributing factor, but I think the tone/quality of a show doesn't always influence the tone/quality of the fic.

Seriously, what fandoms are you in? Because literally all of my het ships have been a lot more "wholesome" and vanilla, fanfic-wise, than any of my slash ships.

I came up in hetalia and homestuck fandoms and when I moved into la shows the lack of kink was a cold shock let me tell you

or when there WAS kink, it'd be 6 months of the exact same thing

I've been in fandom for a decent time now, but Homestuck definitely opened me up to all kinds of (some really crazy) kinks. Honestly, I find myself searching for a decent fandom with the same flair for kink as Homestuck. xD Been pretty disappointed so far.

No idea on show side but I bet it being a plagiarized thing would not drive audience in (I cannot name anyone I know who read the books or watched the show ... neither have I besides the text comparisons).

Dude is like a fuckzillion years old and had like 5000 partners or whatever, no way he's going to be just having sweet vanilla sex all the time. I looked for fic too and didn't find any that did much for me. It doesn't even need to be porn; their relationship in the show, which is of uneven quality to begin with, is still more interesting and intriguing than any of the fic I read.

Yeah I wouldn't recommend them for kinky fic at all, but tbh I don't care for kinky fic myself so I'm good. All the boring sex-fic for me.

I've seen kinky fic with them. And I found it without even trying to look for it (I watch the show casually, I think this ship is the best thing about it, tbh, but I don't have much interest in the fic I have enough on my plate). How kinky were you interested in them getting?

For a second, I though you were going to complain about something more than the shortage of kinky sex - because frankly speaking my main problem with this parining is that there's almost no good fic for it. Full stop. (I guess it comes with teh territory, as the show itself is pretty poorly written, bust still - I've seen pretty godd fandoms sparked by really shitty shows, so...).
