I'll put it on the list, but wanted to ask anyway: how good is this as a standalone? I haven't read any of the other Discworld books except the one which was also a book club book a few months ago (Night Watch). It's not that I don't want to, I just have such a long reading list ;__;

just wanted to say that I read Uprooted a few months ago and it's probably the best book I've read all year, with the possible exception of the Radch trilogy. SO good.
