Gone with the Winds has the ability to distract and mesmerize me like a deer in the headlights, so maybe that. It's far from my favorite movie, though.

My favorite on the list would be The Sting. I think Ordinary People was amazing in the atmosphere it conveyed. Silences of the Lambs was a hell of an achievement. Spotlight was very well crafted.

I don't think The English Patient should have won. I liked Braveheart as a movie, but I think Apollo 13 was a superior film and maybe even Sense and Sensibility, too. Terms of Endearment probably shouldn't have won.
