Do you know how expensive it is to live in a small town? Everything is more expensive because it has to be brought in. And don't think about getting a local job. Those are gone because FUCKING Walmart has driven out almost all the Mom and Pop shops out of business. So unless you are lucky enough to have a job that allows mobility you will end up having an hour or more commute every day. Oh and you don't want to live in a shack? Well you better have some money or a rich uncle. Because anything livable is expensive compared to the suburbs.

I grew up in the country before it was cool to live there and I miss it so much. I live in the burbs now and want out. I can't even have chickens because of stupid zoning laws. We are lucky to have money and my husband has a job that has enough mobility that we can get out into the country. I can work anywhere with internet access. But to find anything better than a lean-to on swampland you almost have to cut someone. Like the house we saw last weekend. Had a leaky roof, water damage on the flooring, and maybe a crack in the foundation. Best house we have seen in weeks. And we're DINKs with excellent credit.

Sorry I am really salty and I want a new place by Spring.
