My hometown is only known for one thing. A woman named Susan Smith who murdered her two children by pushing her car into a lake and then lied about it for nine days. She sparked a huge manhunt because she said a black guy carjacked her and took her car with the kids inside.

I was a baby when it happened, so I don't remember it. But I did have some older family friends who went to school with her.
