(Anonymous) 2017-11-05 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)That said, we do need some real back to the land movements in this generation and I think they're on the way. Many people want a connection to nature or to grow / raise / hunt some of their own food, etc.
I hope it becomes more and more feasible, not just because cities can be annoying and stressful to some/many people, but because human beings really need nature, and getting food production out of the hands of giant multinational corps that care 0% about our health would be a good thing.
I love watching the back to nature stuff on YouTube, you know, gardening and homesteading and all sorts of interesting things. There's a huge interest out there.
But it's not as simple as saying "i'm gonna go live in the wilderness now later losers." There are definitely some barriers for many, many people who want to change their lives.
Would be lovely if small towns could have more jobs and more people moving to them, rather than fewer jobs and people moving away.
