I didn't benefit, and it was a one time thing unrelated to my actual position. As far as I know everyone was more than satisfied with my conduct at my job.

If I was better at connecting with people, or better at keeping in touch with old contacts who could get me work, then the fact that my last job fired me wouldn't be this huge obstacle it feels like it is. I feel like employers want to know why I left my last job, and I'm not sure how much or little to say.
