110: If you post your stuff on the net, you'll just have to accept that it will be reposted elsewhere, and used in icons/macros and such. That's not stealing. They don't have the original. Of course, if someone else claimed they made it, I can understand the outrage.

I agree on the doublestandard, though.

114: I don't know, isn't it a rather common theme? I've always found several, at least in the bigger fandoms I've been in.

116: Nope, I stay away from ffn. It takes so much work to find the good stuff, and I don't have time to waste on wading through page after page of badfic. Also, the attitude of a lot of the writers is just... ugh.

Not to mention that sometimes we even want threesomes and foursomes, and so on.

Also, I don't know how many times I have to say this, but people seem to be incredibly dense; people like different pairings, so every pairing will be represented in any given fandom. That does not mean that every fan ships every pairing, good grief, why do I even have to say this?

Why do you assume I don't? But not everybody can write, you know. In fact, very few do a reasonably good job of it.

Also, writing is very different from reading, and it's not really possible to satisfy your literary wants yourself. Else no published fiction would exist, since everybody would just be writing for themselves and feel no need to read anybody elses work.

The personality types I love paired up romantically often do exist in published fics; they're just not paired up. So why not pair them in fanfic?

Call it whatever you want, it's still incredibly rude and disrespectful, and shouldn't be waved away with "it's the internet, deal with it," especially with the double standard in effect. Don't tell me you'd be okay with people taking what you created and posting/modifying/etc. it however they see fit, without crediting or even knowing where the artwork comes from aside from "I found it on 4chan" or "some Japanese site." Not to mention that most of the time we're not talking about one or two pieces of artwork, but most of the artist's works she displays on her website.

I'd weigh the irritation I might feel against how much I wanted other people to see it. As soon as I post it it will be reposted elsewhere; hopefully I'll be credited, but there are no guarantees. Some people will even steal it, in that they'll repost it as their own.

What I'd do is watermark it, and, of course, make it much smaller and in a different format from the original. Possibly put a link to my site at the bottom of the pictures. Yeah, it won't deter the people who wants to post it as their own, but it will make it easier to credit.

Yeah, I really don't understand why the gender of The Doctor would matter.
