(Anonymous) 2008-06-24 05:05 am (UTC)(link)If they had cast for ability rather than appearance and willingness to strip down and snog Jensen Ackles on camera, the character would not have nearly the same enduring annoyance.
(I've since seen retcons incorporating her lack of acting ability into her character as a kind of emotional distance thing where her lack of normal emotional expression is part of the reason Dean tells her about the job, and it seemed reasonable, but still, bad acting is bad acting.)
