I wouldn't say it's society's fault. I take responsibility for my own opinions. Hell, if anything, society's been trying to drill the opposite idea into my head. But, like I said before, it's not that I don't let a few points be made. A lot of girl power shows with lead women are cool. *shrug*

You kidding? Western society is incredibly predisposed toward males in the more desireable roles. There are exceptions of course, as there are to every rule, but I promise you: you came to your opinions at least in part because of what you've grown up around.

I dunno, lately, it seems there are a lot of female roles that seem to be the badass or the alpha character. Then again, I don't watch a whole lot of television. Maybe I'm just missing all the same shows or something.

There are some, though a good few of them are sexed up. See also: the comic book industry. Female characters also as a general rule tend to have not nearly as much character emphasis on them as their male counterparts. Fact of life.

Hmm, that's a good point, I suppose. Still, I've always hated the whole prospect of blaming something else for my opinions. It makes them feel less like mine and more like someone else's, yanno?

No, I get and mostly agree with exactly what you're saying--but you can't find sociological indoctrination this subtle. At least, it's very very hard.
