I read my own fic all the time, OP! If I didn't enjoy the stories, I wouldn't have written them.

Hell yeah. It's awesome when you write stuff that you just...*like*. I do this, too, and i think all writers should be able to without any issue at all.

Sometimes I do this, but sometimes I go back and read it and think "wow, why tf did so many people like this?" It's weird how my fics I personally cringe at now are so often the ones that got the most popular back in the day.

I read a lot of my old fic because most of my pairings are unpopular so that's all I have to read. Some of it I still like, some of it not so much.

I do this. Some of my old stuff is so cringey that I don't even want to think about it, but some of it is pretty awesome and I enjoy re-reading it.

Occasionally I re-read bits of old reports I wrote for work. "Damn, I really explained that concept well!" and so-forth. I totally get you OP and I think it's cool!

one of my fandom friends re-read one of the fics I send her and apparently started crying at one part and laughing at others.

I decided to go back and re-read it, came across the same part and started crying too. Damn it!

Nothing wrong with that :)! It's good to be proud of your work, and appreciate your own writing strengths where possible. I think every writer deserves to take a moment now and again to see what they do right when it comes to their writing.

I did this a few months ago. It was super cheesy at parts and I wish I had done other things differently but overall... it wasn't all that bad. Made me feel like maybe I wasn't a totally awful author after all.

Ha! I've written this secret almost exactly. I'm just too lazy to send it in. But anyway, I write all my favorite things! So of course I like to re-read my old fanfiction. I feel sad for people who don't like to. Yeah, some of it is cringey, but still, I do what I like best.
