This thing definitely happens in my industry...but it is less of a pre-condition, really: The harassment, abuse, and rape happens once people are in the door, so to to speak. No "casting couch" situation occurs. Occurs any more, I should say; I'm sure it was different back in the day, and some good people put in controls that prevented such "screening."
