One, Jennifer Connelly is one of the most beautiful, good-looking people in history. Fact.

Two, I'd be really curious to hear more about where you're coming from. Why is the physical appearance and attractiveness of the woman so crucial, if it's not a question of sexual attraction?

Maybe they self-insert as the female character and don't want to feel unattractive?

Yeah, I suppose it's a little of that as well. I certainly would love to look like Jennifer Connelly!

Makes sense to me anyway. "Feeling sexy" is a large part of sex and shipping as well and being able to empathize with that on a character you don't find attractive sounds harder to do.

Honestly, no idea. IRL I'm not sexually attracted to women. I admire physical beauty in both men and women though in general I think women are nicer to look at. Maybe I've just gotten really, really used to the male gaze perspective in media?

That's interesting!

She had her nose done and lost weight to become that way.

Loving this picture of her! <3

Hahaha, that is so terribly personally fitting.

I'm a big ole Jareth/Sarah shipper, and - yeassss of course I am attracted to Glamour-Bowie bigtime. But in smutfics I am more interested in what is being described about Sarah's hotness and reactions? I'm a girl and have only ever been in het relationships (I'd say I'm theoretically bi, but maybe that's appropriating queer struggles or somesuch). Is it just cause the physical sensations are relatable and I'm gratifyingly self-inserting as an object of desire, or is it that whole male-gaze-infected sexuality, or a personal Thing?

but certainly Jconnelly's hottness is a relevant point in many of my personal time fantasies, either way...

Bi is about who you're attracted to, not who you've actually done the sex with.

ayrt

I'm comfortable enough considering myself bi, and feeling attracted to girls - although there is that lingering doubt about how much of that is the omnipresent male gaze and female sexual objectification sneakliy getting to me, or the cliché "bi-curious" phase. So I guess I kinda feel like I have some skin in the game - and massive sympathy - for LGBT+ rights, but presently I would feel a bit daft publicly claiming that label like I have taken any knocks for it.

I'm with you, OP. I'm not sexually attracted to women and mainly ship slash but can only find a het couple sexy if I find the woman attractive as well as the man.

That is an excellent picture. Well done OP XD

That is a fine looking lady right there. Personally I prefer to find both parties, regardless of gender, attractive or at least pleasant looking, although I have certainly shipped things purely on the basis of personality rather than finding one or both hot. But I am bi so when I go for a pairing on basis of aesthetics I like to have both characters be hot no matter if they be male or female.

I'm a big ol' homosexual man and I'd love to give her a good evening. Beautiful people transcend gender preferences.
