Same, OP, same. Historical fiction with a side of smut is my weakness and I'm disappointed if the plot seems appropriate for it but the author doesn't go there.

(And before anyone asks, the reason why historical romances don't work is that they're more romance than historical fiction. I want a substantial plot that happens to have some nice smut, not a romance that has the occasional historical detail.)
