Yeah, it's not like a director has ever done that, lied to everyone and told his cast & crew to support that lie. And it's not like said director regretted doing that. And his next film definitely didn't star Daisy Ridley.

I want Rey to be Luke's daughter because Luke is my bby and if anyone deserves a butt kicking offspring like her it is him, and because she deserves an awesome dad. I have a lot of Feels about this tbh

I don't want her to be Luke's daughter because that would mean Luke is either a shitty absentee father, or a horrible person who abandoned his kid to be basically a slave.

Except he wasn't trained in the "celibate" ways of the Jedi. And even Lucas himself said they weren't celibate. They just couldn't form attachments. And Luke broke that one bit from the start. Besides the prevailing theory is that his wife "died" and she was pregnant.
