My point here is that it's moronic to be blaming those who grew up into the current system, which was run into the ground by the previous generations, for the fact that they're struggling to cope with the world in which they've been landed, or to act like it's their personal faults for not advancing in life as easily and quickly as those who grew up in far more prosperous times.

And my point is that it's moronic to blame my grandparent's class, because they died bankrupt except for minimal government services. Or my parents' class, where we're hoping that death comes quickly because that house you keep harping on is underwater and won't pay more than a year of care.

Oh, sweetie. I don't know where you've been, but no one under the age of 45 came of age in "far more prosperous times." And frankly, if you're not on the upper-middle or higher end of the economic spectrum and white, those "far more prosperous times" you speak of never existed anyway. But hey, if you really want to relive the good old days, most of the factories around here are hiring third shift production workers. What are your thoughts on laminate?

I would argue that someone who came of age between 1991 and 2001 did come of age in meaningfully more prosperous times than the presdent.

The 90s seemed like a good time to me. Too bad I could only experience them as a teenager.

This truth.
