Unfortunately, getting rid of guns just means people pick up knives or other weapons and use those. People who want to kill people will find ways to do it.

I guess less will die...unless somebody uses bombs or some shit.

My very real fear is biological weapons. Let loose a canister of something deadly and you can infect everybody in a movie theater to go off and infect others. I carry dust mask in my pocket because I'm that fuckin paranoid.

That dust mask isn't going to do that much to help. Viruses and bacteria are a lot smaller than dust particles, any mask that hasn't been properly fitted has a high chance to leak outside air around the edges, and if it's been in your pocket for any length of time it probably has micro-tears in it anyway. Honestly, most deadly pathogens aren't particularly easy to aerosolize anyway, and most people will notice if a canister explodes splooge on everyone. Biological toxins are a bigger hazard, and would probably take out everyone in the movie theater, but toxins aren't contagious. Someone wants to take out a bunch of people like that, they'd need to contaminate the water supply.

It is much, much harder to kill multiple people using knives or other weapons. Of course people will always kill people. Guns make it too easy for people to kill people. What, you think a dude sitting in a hotel room in Las Vegas would kill dozens of people at a concert with throwing knives or something?

It is also much more difficult to construct mass weapons like that. Bombs or biological stuff. A gun is the murdering tool of the lazy.

Forcing people to use knives instead of guns will make it harder to kill people

Making it harder to kill people is an incredibly good thing to do and will save many lives

It's very, very disingenuous to pretend that knives will generally do the same level of damage as guns. It might not make a huge difference in number of individual homicides, but nobody can commit a mass shooting with a knife.
