This.

It's actually really weird to me that people would even try to argue that Nancy doesn't do anything in S2 except have a love triangle. Like, did they even watch S2? She's the one who makes the proactive decision to do something about the lab and get Barb's parents some closure. And the whole plan seems to be mostly of her devising. And it succeeds. So basically, Nancy is a hero and also kind of a badass. If anyone gets a bit shortchange in S2, it's Johnathan. (I still think he's a good character though.)

Also, she was the one who grabbed a hot poker and used it to exorcise a demon from a thirteen year old. Damn.

While Jonathan wrung his hands and whined like a Barb in the background.

It's because love triangles suck the life out of even the most otherwise well-written story.

You're not alone in feeling that way, but far from everyone does.

I love well-handled love triangles, and this was well-handled.

Exactly, I'm not alone in feeling this way. It stands to reason that many people didn't notice or care about everything else she did, because to them love triangles are so off-putting that they can't be ignored or compensated for. Not "weird" at all IMO. Just a pet peeve.
