Jonathan and Nancy are easily the most boring parts of the show, and for that, I guess they sort of deserve each other. I so badly wanted to like Nancy -- the actress is adorable, there's not that many girls on the show -- but I don't know if it's poor acting or poor writing that turns me off of her. I want to see a pretty girl with normal emotions who gets to be a strong character at the same time, but giving Nancy a gun and making her say curse words and jut her chin out when she's angry or pouting doesn't make her strong. Her personality and the decisions she makes are hot and cold, like the writers don't know what to do with her. The only time I liked her is the very end of s2 with Dustin.

And as for Jonathan, he's just boring. He's only interesting when he's interacting with Will. Other than that it's like he has nothing to do. Like, oh, he's a photographer, okay. What else? Is that his only personality trait besides awkward? His lovesick puppy attitude with Nancy isn't all that endearing to me, but I could still be hung up on the photos he took in season one, I can admit.

He's only interesting when he's interacting with Will.

I think that usually he treats Will like he's 9 instead of 13, which normally would come off as kind of condescending, but since Jonathan's so awkward it comes off slightly creepy.
