Vaan being an utter dumbass in FFXII. Almost just after they're all like 'VAAN DON'T SAY BASCH'S NAME, HE'S A WANTED CRIMINAL' the very next person he talks to... yup. He says the name.

I just cannot with that sort of stupid.

If it helps, his dumbass tendencies help them out shortly afterwards, when his total inability to keep quiet about Basch is deliberately put to good use. Plus, everyone else is very happy to call him on his stupidity, and as a result he gets slightly less stupid as the game progresses. Also, the focus kind of shifts away from him once the whole party is together and the plot gets going, which is nice.
