As someone who has gone through a fair bit of personal suffering for pets, I understand how you feel, even though I personally hate roosters and kind of want someone to turn yours into sandwiches.

AYRT—do you hate them because they’re noisy or because they can be mean? Mine has hit the five month mark and will occasionally chase one of the hens to try to mate with them even though none of them are laying eggs yet (and I don’t think he’s been successful either) but he’s never chased or bit me. But then, once I realized he was practicing crowing I started picking him up and carrying him around, so I don’t think he’s gonna mess with people.

Just the noise, really.

Some roosters are OK, I guess. But when I was little, we rented rooms from a family with a pet rooster. He wasn't completely insufferable, but he crowed all day. Granted, I now realise he was the only bird in the house and probably lonely.
