I think anon's point was that usually the attractive characters are the stars or main characters, which means they *do* get more character and personality than the rest. So when people say they like them because of personality, it's not pretending differently. The problem there is that the hot characters get all the personality and focus.

Yup, you nailed it. I mean all things being equal an attractive side character is probably going to get more fandom attention than a more unconventional one, but I don't really pearl clutch over Diana having more fanworks than Etta Candy.
