Don't kill me for this, but The Princess Bride. I'm not saying it's bad. It's good and it had excellent casting and quotable lines. I just don't think it's wonderful and amazing and so much better than the book the way literally everyone else seems to think.

I agree. But then again, I watched it for the first time when I was older and maybe that's why I don't think it's particularly great - I'm missing all the nostalgic fond childhood memories most people connect with the movie.

This is me. Except I don't even find the casting all that great and people have ruined the quotable lines into tired jokes over the years.

Yeah same here tbh.

Like I can remember really enjoying it as a kid but when I watched it again as an adult I just didn't find it that funny and it kind of dragged. It's got some okay moments though but those aren't enough for me to sit through it again.
