I dislike Tokyopop for numerous reasons, it's mostly for picking up series they know they can't keep up with. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that I could at least read the first Kino no Tabi book in English, but I wish they would officially say they've dropped it or not. The 2nd book was supposed to come out last year on my birthday, and it's still not out.

Stop pulling me on a string, Tokyopop. It really hurts.

It really, really sucks to fall in love with a series and wanting MORE but knowing you'll never get more because it's not cared for by the publisher. Emo tear. :'(

It's what made me sad as well. I really hope to read the next volumes of Kino no Tabi, and I'm still waiting for the day it'll be out.

Ugh, same thing happened with me and ADV's short-lived manga publishing. I was completely enamored with Gamerz Heaven and Tactics, only to have them stop publishing both without officially stating that they'd dropped the license. They just kept pushing back release dates until they just stopped giving them altogether.

Really annoying, that.

Like I said above, a lot of obscure titles are being set aside to make room for the money making overrated shit like Naruto because those are the ones that make them money. Pirating is a very real issue with manga because these companies can't do like the music industry and try people- they haven't the billions to do it like Island Records or Colombia, etc. does.

Don't get me wrong, I love scanlations for being more purist friendly, but I also like owning the books on my shelves so I buy the manga when it comes out no matter if I prefer the scanlation.
