I HATE SUPERNATURAL. I PERSONALLY, THINK THAT BOTH LEADS ARE SHIT ACTORS.

I'm one page ahead of you. I used to think the show was just brain dead distraction, I love bad acting and hilarious plots, and Supernatural is full of it. I can tell that the Fandom is far more scary.

I just wish Rifftrax would get a hold of Supernatural--it would be awesome.

What Fangirls See: More than half of that fandom thinks they are watching some sort of incestuous love story, the other part thinks it has deep meaning and powerful secret messages that are invisible to the rest of us. And the rest are laughing at the other two groups.

What The Rest Of Us See: A badly acted, over the top cliche show, with brain dead plots, and shallow characters seemingly created using a dart board and some angst ridden poetry magnets.

This is so true. Well, for the majority, my friend whom loves it hates the idea of them being lovers.
...at least she openly admits she watches it because they're "hot". *sighs*

The fans who admit that's schlock and they are watching it for the pretty are the most sane. The show was supposed to be like B-Movie Horror, though it failed at that too. O_O It's the ones who write thesis and essays on it; it's like writing an essay on Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.

Supernatural....serious business. Like, whoa.

I'm more than confused by the heaps of praise it gets and the blind fangirlism.

preface: i actually really like supernatural.

i don't think it's badly acted, per se. but it is over the top, it is full of cliches, i've read better fanfiction than some of the episodes i've seen. i won't go to cons and i won't buy the merch. i don't watch the show when it comes on (i download it freely).

that really doesn't stop me from watching it, though. i figure it's mindless self-indulgence. i spend a lot of my day focused on my work and basically thinking too hard. supernatural gives my brain a rest because it beats me over the head with entertainment. it gets rated with all the reality shows out there, which are all trite nonsense.

and it doesn't hurt that the actors are pretty.


unpopular opinion? maybe. but still... pretty true.

You win. Most of the Fandom takes it seriously, very seriously. Like it's some sort of in depth drama. o_O; You're actually taking it for what it is--mindless entertainment. There is no thinking involved with Supernatural.
