That said, I can see the chemistry there. It's hard to tell if Light's wanting to kill L means he completely and utterly hates him (I would guess not, but then, this is Light, and he's a fucking psychopath so it's really hard to tell XD), but from L's perspective, at least... Well, he's getting more and more sure that Light is Kira, and he'd immediately, unflinchingly arrest Light and let/watch him be put to death for murder once he finds out it's the case- but he also sees Light as his "first friend." And means it. That intrigues me a lot, and I can't help but be interested a bit in that pairing myself, come to that.
I need to get back into this fandom, methinks. :> LOL BANANA, it's the new potato chip. ._.

151. Why don't you just write what you want to write, instead of closing yourself into a little "but-I-can-only-do-this!" box? Unless, of course, this is about how you don't feel you can write it well but want it to exist so bad you're disappointed none of the great slash writers in the fandom have used the idea. IN WHICH CASE I CAN ONLY SAY: I relate, and do it anyway.
not!secret #2: Of course it's not a healthy relationship. o_o;; What if we ship it anyway? (Awesome ship is awesome, even if anything involving the Joker could never be a good idea ever.) Of course Harl is co-dependent, it's a huge part of her character (with Joker, and even with Poison Ivy =X).
not!secret #3: Not in the fandom, but I agree with this secret like burning. Sadly, there are way, way too many people in fandom who need to grow up. @_@
not!secret #4: Nawwwww. Come on, how could you call them boring versus the Cybermen?

Also, the Evolution bit was pretty freaking awesome. In general, I can agree that they're becoming a tad overused, though ;;
not!secret #5: I doubt the whole point of the show was "Simon has only ever loved one person in his entire life and he will never love again." :/ That said, I am really, really happy you put in that "for anything other" disclaimer, though! At least someone recognizes that that's a valid reason.
too!big: By "the fanbase won't take anything but circle-jerking about it," are you... pretty much saying that when you complain about how all the characters are obnoxious and the story sucks and it doesn't deserve fans, people who disagree with you... disagree with you? Because uh. Duh. :| Maybe try not bashing something that someone enjoys to their face, or at least not getting surprised and huffy when they tell you to shut up. If you don't like it... just don't watch it, it's no big deal, but don't feel like you have to "enlighten" its fans.

I always hope that strong contrary opinions will someday be met by a reaction that isn't crying to mommy about how MEAN it is, but I'm continually proven that I'm expecting too much.

dyingwill, good Suikoden fan! I have a friend who hates... at least two of those games and I forget which two, but it wasn't either of the first two. I haven't played them, so I don't much care. And I don't think anyone should get to decide what you're allowed to dislike, any more than anyone should be allowed to decide what other people like.You obviously have a different definition of "openly hostile" than I do. Hating the games is one thing. Saying that they shouldn't even exist is kind of ridiculous when there are so many people that do like them, because why the hell would you want to rain so hard on their parade? There's a difference between telling someone that you really, really don't like something they like, but saying "WHAT YOU LIKE SHOULD NEVER HAVE EXISTED!" is taking it a bit too far.
I agree that I misread part of that, though. Being openly hostile toward the games =/= being openly hostile toward the fans. It can, of course, and it usually does end up turning into that, but you can decry the later games as much as you like without being a jerk to the people who love them. As long as you do that, it's no big deal. I just don't see the need to rain on someone else's parade for no real reason except thinking your own likes and dislikes >>>>>> everyone else's. And since that's obviously not where you were going with that secret, no harm, no foul, 'kay?

I mean, it's just as strong an emotion at the other end of the spectrum...and some people say "hate" when they just mean "dislike". I hate swiss cheese but that doesn't want me to nuke Switzerland.

No, I mean, I don't mind if people say they hate something! But there's a huge difference between saying you hate something and implying, openly or not, that because you hate that thing the people who actually like it are inferior. At first I thought the OP was leaning that way (mostly because of the wishing they didn't exist thing, which always seems to take it a bit far, to me), but if it's just not their thing, that's no big.
It's like... to reuse an example, it's one thing to say "oh my god I hate Naruto =_=" and another thing entirely to go to someone who likes it and be like, "oh geez, Naruto, how can you like that crap?" Because the latter is patronizing and belittling and implying that your opinion is the only correct one.
IDK IF THAT MADE SENSE but yeah. XD;
