I had friends that I sat with, so I wouldn't really have sat with him anyway. We sat towards the front (sucking up to the professor, I know, how mean of us), and he towards the back.

And I really don't think I'm responsible for how an entire class acted towards someone...

Sorry, that was out of line- I was more "kjasfhakf"ing at your entire class than you in particular, anyway, so I shouldn't have wanked. It's just... man, I'm amazed by the number of people who don't seem to realize that bag/shirt/logo is just a joke, and act as if anyone sporting it is a complete pervert and social leper. I mean... what?

Ah, it's okay. It was kind of shitty of the class, though it makes me wonder how many of them actually knew what it meant. I know that a lot of them weren't there because they had any interest in mathematical formulas for sculpting Buddhas or anything... They were just there due to the timeslot. I try not to judge people necessarily. Sometimes I'd prefer that they don't do/wear something, but that's up to them, not to me. And if I don't like it, then I don't have to associate with them (but being civil is still a must. Treating someone like a lower human being just because they wear something that offends me is pretty petty...).

Yeah, that makes a lot more sense. Blah, I don't know, I just think too many people are making a huge deal over this bag that... doesn't even really imply that the person is into hentai at all. At most, it shows they know what the word means and the joke made them snicker enough that they actually felt like buying it. It'd be like someone wearing a "THE INTERNET IS FOR PORN!" shirt and having tons of people pile on them for being a horrible disgusting person who needs to keep their porn addiction in their own private life, because we don't want to know, thank you! So... yeah, confusion. @_@

I don't really like the bags. I find them tasteless. But I wouldn't treat someone worse just because of it. It's like when I see the Asian girls around college (we're a transfer school, so there's a lot) wearing shirts that say inappropriate things in English. Not gonna judge them for it, even if I dislike it. For all I know, they thought it was cute and didn't even bother to read it. Or maybe they know full well what it means -- still not my place to get all up in their face about it... I do think that there's a line between private and personal but I can't enforce it and I wouldn't try.

Yeah, that's a good way to go about it- I simply don't see it as really saying anything personal about the person so I don't see it as tasteless, but if you do and aren't going to be jerky about it, that's a good way to go about it.
