I thought they did a pretty good job with making it a bit mysterious how she ended up in the cabin in the woods. And considering she was raised in a lab I don't think it's impossible she would have stayed indoors for a long time.

It did bother me that they showed her coming back out of the Upside Down right away after she went into it at the end of Season 1. (At least that was how it looked to me.) I felt like she should have been in there for a while dealing with the monster. Also wouldn't people have looked for her there right after it happened?

She was a prisoner in the lab and she'd had a taste of what it was like to be free and have friends. If anything, I think that would make it harder to go back to staying indoors in a cabin, mostly by yourself, while your best friend pleads for you to answer him every single day.

Those are fair points to make and I do think she should have been allowed to respond to Mike.

But unfortunately Hopper was right that she was in very serious danger, too. He may not have handled it in the best way but I think if the wrong people catch up to her she would die.

Her escaping from the Upside Down was a bit quick for me, but the rest of it I was fine with and considering that she'd been kept in a room for her entire life up until this point I could totally see her being fine with staying in a cabin that's nicer furnished and has a TV, plus she got eggos.

...she wasn't fine with it, though. She was very, very NOT okay with doing it longterm, if you saw the show.

It makes complete sense that she would have been resigned to it, and stayed resigned to it for a long time, because captivity is what she knows. And also, she's a smart kid with the intelligence to know that Hopper was right about how dangerous it would be for her to be seen. I mean, before Hopper took her to the cabin, she was living rough in the freezing woods eating squirrels and shit just to keep from being seen, so she obviously knows exactly how necessary it is for her to hide. And the cabin probably seemed pretty great for quite a while - both in comparison to the freezing woods, and in comparison to the lab.

For all those reasons, I think it makes perfect sense that she stayed in the cabin as long as she did. Though I also think it's entirely reasonable and realistic that she eventually said 'fuck it' and left, despite the danger of doing so.

Ah Fine was the wrong word really, I meant more willing to put up with it for a time because it was better than where she had been kept up until this point. Because she does absolutely get fed up with it eventually, I can just buy that she'd agree to it for a time.

Disagree

One of my favorite things about this season was the Hopper Eleven relationship and we wouldn't have gotten that if they hadn't revealed where she was at the beginning.
