Thank you. My dad is Athiest too but has a childhood friend who visits us twice a year or so, and he's a born-again Christian. We sort of don't usually bring it up because we know it'll end in an argument, but the last time he came down he started getting vocal about how he was against abortion and homosexual marriage and my dad absolutely flipped. I joined in. It was like "dude, we love you, but you're full of shit. Stop."

I wish my parents were atheists, I'd probably be a lot less screwed up.

long and not very interesting story. I'll only say two things about that situation.
A. I'm just glad they're not fundies.
B. if they knew I was an atheist, they'd never stop screaming at me. All they know is I'm "not religious" and they didn't take that at all well, especially not my dad. As far as I'm concerned that was a test and they failed.

B. I'm really sorry to hear that. I hate the idea of parents trying to push religion onto their kids. I'm grateful to have a dad who thinks like me. I never really spoke to my mother about religion before she split, but I always had an inkling that she had the makings of a religious nut in her somewhere. Dodged a bullet I guess. Props to you for not getting brainwashed. <3
