They won't care. Do you have any idea how many tweets famous people get a hour?

This.

But there are clearly times when it does affect even famous people - I mean, just from things that people say in interviews.

If it goes viral, though...

(Anonymous) 2017-11-26 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
dead at the thought of anything f!s going viral

(Anonymous) 2017-11-25 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it would be fun and funny if you did that! The big A-list people wouldn't even notice but plenty of others might, especially if they're in a show with an active dedicated social media team. Movies, probably not as much.

One of my favourite things about New Old Top Gear was the producer occasionally lurked in the fandom or had others do it and then he'd use what they found from that ton help gauge reactions to things they did on the show. I hate fandom influence on a scripted drama (House, Doctor Who, and Sherlock all spring to mind) but I thought it was cool for a reality based series.

I don't think that's the kind of thing that one ought to do. Even though of course there's no real harm in it.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-25 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
In all likelihood, the actors in question would never notice. But if they did notice, I don't think the resultant wankstorm would be good for fandomsecrets.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-25 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
So, wait. You would only tweet them the negative secrets? There are a lot of secrets on celebrities here that are really endearing and read like nice fan letters. I don't understand this talk of amazing wank potential.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-25 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
You are the most annoying type of person. Like those dumbasses that harass actors about their ships or ship them with their co-stars.

Just fucking leave them alone.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-26 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
This was basically my thought.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-25 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
this fantasy in which a famous person would notice, react in a way that is interesting or public at all, and that anyone here would care, is dumber than any secret

(Anonymous) 2017-11-26 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
^ This.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-25 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I think fandom is capable of spontaneously generating enough wank on its own without anyone going out of their way to manufacture it.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-26 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
+1

(Anonymous) 2017-11-26 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Are you stupid or were you just born this way? That would be the fastest way in this current environment to not only get fandomsecrets, but Dreamwidth as a whole shut down.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-26 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
How so? I mean, if shit-talking celebrities got sites shut down, there wouldn't be a single gossip or news site left standing. Twitter would be a goner. Ditto Tumblr and Facebook and just about any social media platform with a reasonable level of activity.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-26 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
...You ask the OP if they are stupid, then say all that?

lmao

(Anonymous) 2017-11-26 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahahaha, seriously? Oh nooooooooeeeees someone on the internet is talking about a celebrity, shut it all doooooooooooown! LOL.
