Re: What is the most suprising experience you've had at a restaurant?

Waitress wouldn't let my brother order a particular dish.

Not because they were out of it, or there was something wrong with it, or anything. She just thought he wouldn't like it.

I hate it when people do that. Like... you don't even know me, so you're making judgments based on my appearance? Not cool.

That's really shitty. I hate when retail workers do that- oh you wouldn't like this, oh that's probably too expensive for you, even without asking what your budget is (for other types of stores).

I was going to say I'd never had this happen to me, but then I remembered how much I hate perfume shopping at The Bay, because whenever I express interest in a fragrance the sales people always say things like, "Oh but wouldn't you like something younger? You should try something younger. Here, let me show you a couple of scents I think you'll like." Like, no. Fuck off. I know my own mind, thank you. And anyway, it's Shalimar. It's fucking Opium by YSL. They're classics for a reason. Stop implying my taste is wrong somehow, or that I'm too immature for a serious fragrance.

So yeah, I guess this does happen to me, and it's really annoying.

I think I bought my first bottle of Shalimar when I was 19 or 20. It's still the only scent I wear, even though I'm pushing into middle age.
