[Team Fourstar/Dragon Ball Z Abridged]

I highly doubt whoever owns DBZ would try to take this down. This is free publicity for them.

They have already been successful a few times.

Toei has done it MULTIPLE times. They've had the entirety of DBZA taken down before, repeatedly. And they made the English dub remove a scene from the broadcast of Kai that used the TFS actors (it's restored on the home release though).

The American production company LOVES DBZ:A. The Japanese company are jerks about it.

Court order? Man, I'm so out of the loop. I hope they can keep making DBZA. That shit helps me get through the day.

It isn't anything I know for sure, but they HAVE mentioned having a lawyer on retainer. Given everything I think it's a reasonable assumption.

It's so frustrating how stupid companies can be about things like parodies. It helps the franchise, not hurts!

I'm not trying to be snarky. I genuinely want to know: Do you know any fans of DBZ:A that supported the original release as TFS asks them to in their disclaimer? Obviously not everyone can for various reasons, but like, does anyone actually heed that message? Or at least care? Personally, I don't know anyone who does, so I'd feel a lot better if someone out there actually has. I've loved DBZ for a long time. I'm sure the folks at TFS have, too. Now what about the fans?

*raises hand* I bought the Dragon Boxes.

Awesome. :)

I went out and bought all the manga because of them. But I think most of their fans have seen or read the whole series PRIOR to watching the abridged.

Maybe it's just me, but IRL I've run into several people who have watched DBZ:A without ever having watched the original, nor had any intent of supporting the original, and I don't want to talk to these people. Not about DBZ-related things anyway. When the entire conversation is DBZ:A, I get bored fast.
