You have way more interesting dreams than I do, OP!

(Anonymous) 2017-11-28 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
shine on you crazy diamond

I am the Chris Pratt anon (and the OP) and this secret is my origin story. AMA!

(Anonymous) 2017-11-28 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
I'm kind of kidding, but... yeah. Big props to this community for putting up with my Pratt obsession, with the exception of a few anon trolls, you've been very kind.

I feel like you had to sleep for twelve hours to dream all that.

The way you wrote it was like a story, write a smut novel, change the names, post it to Amazon and boom, a movie deal!

mte. It sounds cute.

OP

(Anonymous) 2017-11-28 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
LOL, I wish! It's hard to explain but in the dream it was more like a quick series of memory-flashes where I knew all the backstory as that character. I confess... since then I've been daydreaming about that story and filling in the details. Writing it out in novel form is a tempting idea but it barely has a plot. It's just a series of rambling events.

That's no reason to stop!!!

Haha, well, good point. Maybe a plot of some kind will occur to me if I write it out. :)

Some of my best fics have started out this way - just transferred me to another character.

You put in enough details, and you could sell it as $0.99 erotica on Amazon.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-28 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
I thought I was the only person who did this!

(Anonymous) 2017-11-28 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
...I'll be in my bunk.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-28 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
I've had similar dream experiences! Though not with Chris Pratt...

(Anonymous) 2017-11-28 09:22 am (UTC)(link)
I'm so thankful for this secret and the comments, because the exact same thing (except for different celebrities and storylines) has happend to me in the past, too. And I was very worried about it...but glad to know I'm not alone and my brain is not the only weird one ♥

What a particular dream,OP! So specific lol

Great secret, enjoy your crush & you really should self pub that Amazon.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-28 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
This is officially my favorite secret this place has churned out in a long while. It brings me such joy. Thank you OP.

OP

(Anonymous) 2017-11-28 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Aww, thank you! :)

(Anonymous) 2017-11-28 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
What a lovely, lovely secret. Thank you for sharing it!

I know the feeling of loss after a wonderful dream, so it's a good thing you wrote all of this down before it completely vanishes.

As others said, this really is worth spinning out into a longer yarn and maybe publish it.

I have a desperate need for an entire novel (if not series) about this dream OP!

It reminds me of a recent popular post on Tumblr about how great it would be to see the unsocialized-naive-secret-experiment-waif-escapes-captors-and-protagonist-must-protect-and-teach-her-about-the-world trope subverted by replacing the waif with a tall and hunky bearded 30-something-year-old guy.

There actually was this bizarre/cheesy romance novel I read the first few chapters of as a child about a teenage girl finding a fantasy barbarian warrior guy injured from another world hiding in a shack on her family's property or something. The way he relied on her and how I imagine she would probably have to teach him about 20th century Earth customs really stirred something in me even then lol.

If anyone knows what novel I'm talking about please let me know haha! I've tried numerous times to find it to no avail, it's apparently really obscure.

I wonder if there's a name for this trope...

There’s a Game of Thrones Sandor/Sansa fic with that same premise, if you’re interested:

AYRT

Thanks! I'm a big Song fan and this looks promising!

I was always more of a Sansa/Jon type of person, but Sandor is intriguing.

This is so beautiful.
