How should I prepare for a job interview I have for a position I feel under-qualified for?
Re: How should I prepare for a job interview I have for a position I feel under-qualified for?
My most relevant job was my most recent warehouse one that I had for three year. This was my resume stuff for that.
"-Designed training plan to teach new employees on use of specialized machinery and company regulations
-Directed employees in order to achieve production goals while maintaining product quality
-Utilized software to create marketing material for distribution to customers and website displays
-Coordinated with other departments to assist them in meeting company deadlines
-Assisted customers with finding the ideal product for their projects and with the checkout process
-Verified correctness and quality of incoming product shipments
-Accurately picked and packaged products in order to ship to customers and bulk distributors"
All of the above is true but it is nowhere near what I think I'd need for the job I applied for. For one, I was only ever in charge of 2-3 other employees.
The main things I am worried about are my negotiation skills and Excel skills. I have a basic understanding of Excel (I can sort of do pivot tables) and they wanted proficient. They require negotiation skills and the only negotiation I've done is between employees who are fighting.
I did have to meet 'production needs' but it was all done in our small warehouse. I never had to coordinate with other manufacturing plants (IN OTHER COUNTRIES!).
So, what can I do to prepare for this interview?
