I don't mind darker tones at all, and I honestly usually do prefer multi-episode/season-wide story arcs to single-episode stories, so those are definitely good things to know about DS9, thanks!

I'm pretty new to sci-fi in general, so I've never actually watched Babylon 5, or Battlestar Galactica, or even Star Wars, honestly, but I genuinely do like the genre, so it feel like I might end up enjoying DS9 a lot.
